Luxury Travel Guide to Vietnam :: Ha Long and Nha Trang

Best things to do in Vietnam for first-timers looking for a luxury adventure. I curated a list of where to stay, eat, and play with VinFast and the their parent company VinGroup, one of the largest conglomerates in Vietnam. But who is VinFast and how did they get started?

How to get there

Did you know that you can fly directly from San Francisco to Vietnam? On average it takes about 15 hours. Since this was a special trip in partnership with VinFast, the company chartered a plane with Asiana Airlines for the entire group. The first leg of our trip was 13 hours from SFO to ICN. After a quick layover in Seoul, South Korea for an hour, then a 4 hour flight to Vietnam, a charter bus and then a short speed boat, we finally arrived at VinPearl Ha Long. Sometimes it takes a journey to arrive at your final destination, and it’s totally worth it.

Sunset Cruise around

Ha Long Bay

A little bit jet lagged and sleepy eyed, we boarded a sunset cruise around Ha Long Bay. We were welcomed with open arms and invited to learn a traditional bamboo dance. There were local artisans painting and making bamboo conical hats. It was an amazing chance to learn about Vietnamese culture. Then we had a banquet style dinner and tried some of the most delicious and fresh seafood.

VinPearl Nha Trang: book here

Address: 66FR+3P4 City, Hon Tre, Đường đi Vinpearl, Vĩnh Nguyên, Nha Trang, Khánh Hòa 650000, Vietnam

Located in Southern Vietnam, VinPearl Nha Trang is another 5-star resort from VinGroup. It’s pretty much Vietnam’s answer to Disney World. On a beach along the Nha Trang Bay coast, this polished resort is 16 minutes walk from the Vinpearl Land amusement park and 3 km from the Vinpearl ferry terminal. You can easily spend 4-5 days here with your family or friends. There’s so much to do and explore on the island.

Instagram Worthy Spots

On the edge of the VinPearl Nha Trang property, you can find these rainbow stairs with the “Sunrise Bay” neon sign. You can take a leisurely stroll to get a panoramic view of the ocean.

The newest electric vehicle coming to the US…

The VF 8

Now here’s the real reason I’m in Vietnam. With the high cost of gasoline, I’m considering the switch to an electric car. We had the opportunity to explore VinFast’s state of the art manufacturing complex while we were in Vietnam. From batteries, paint, and assembly, we got an exclusive look into how VinFast cars like the VF 8 are built. I’m impressed by how they’re able to automate 90% of the process.

The VF 8 is fast and can go from 0 to 60 in about 5.3s! There are loads of color options for the exterior and interior finish, personally I’m torn between the white or red. 🚗

The Food

And of course, I could not finish this blog post without discussing the amazing Vietnamese food I had on this trip. From delicious pho, to fresh seafood and fruit, we never really went hungry on our trip. Save this for your next adventure. DM me on Instagram if you have any other questions. Thank you so much to VinFast and VinGroup for hosting me on this adventure.
